"WE EXPERIENCED DEATH"
Three journalist working for the BBC including a Turkish cameraman, have been arrested, tortured and subjected to a mock execution by security forces of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. Goktay Koraltan, Turkish member of the BBC team, said that they were beaten while being interrogated as suspected "British spies". "We were lined up against the wall facing it. An officer pulled the trigger. The shots went past our ears. It was a mock execution. After the shooting incident, one man who spoke very good English, released us," he added.
MYSTERIOUS MEMBER OF MIT ARRESTED
Kasif Kozinoglu of the National Intelligence Agency (MIT) has been arrested after returning from Afghanistan. Earlier, police searched his house and the court issued an arrest warrant against him during an investigation into the OdaTV. He was sent to jail on charges of being member of a terrorist organization.

ERDOGAN: "THEY ARE UNBALANCED"
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the European Parliament's latest report on Turkey was lack of balance. "I believe that those who prepared this report lack balance," Erdogan said. Premier Erdogan and Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic held a press conference in Ankara. Erdogan said that the expressions used in the report did not describe the freedom of press in Turkey.

Revolutionary Labor Unions Confederation (DISK) Chairman Suleyman Celebi announced that he resigned to continue his struggle for unions in the parliament. Celebi aims to run in the parliamentary election as candidate from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP). Prosecutor Ilhan Cihaner also resigned to run in the election from CHP.

BUREAUCRATS RESIGN AHEAD OF JUNE 12 ELECTIONS
Many bureaucrats resigned on Thursday ahead of the parliamentary election scheduled to be held on June 12. Hundreds of bureaucrats resigned to run as candidates in the parliamentary election. There is a great interest in the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party. Names such as Hanefi Avci, Ilhan Cihaner and Sinan Aygun resigned to have immunity.

Former National Intelligence Organization (MIT) official Kasif Kozinoglu who was wanted under the Ergenekon case returned to Turkey from Afghanistan where he was working. After being questioned by Zekeriya Oz on Thursday, Kozinoglu was arrested.
