BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia has reported that money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of February 2011, reached to MNT 4,868.8 billion reflecting increases of MNT 63.3 billion or 1.3 per cent against the previous month, and MNT 1,886.9 billion or 63.3 per cent against the previous year.
At the end of February 2011, currency issued in circulation reached MNT 474.5 billion decreasing by MNT 91.2 billion or 16.1 per cent against the previous month; and increased by MNT 122.2 billion or 34.7 per cent compared to the same period of previous year.
Loans outstanding at the end of February 2011 amounted to MNT 3,528.9 billion, up by MNT 88.6 billion or 2.6 per cent against the previous month, and up by MNT 813.1 billion or 29.9 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. Principals in arrears at the end of February, reached MNT 112.6 billion reflecting an increase of MNT 9.6 billion or 9.3 per cent against the previous month, and a decrease of MNT 34.7 billion or 23.6 per cent against the same period of the previous year.
The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 363.0 billion showing an increase of MNT 1.5 billion or 0.4 per cent against the previous month, and a decrease of MNT 81.6 billion or 18.4 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In February 2011, there were 18 trading days and 7.3 million shares valued at MNT 6.3 billion were traded.
