Putin to discuss health care in Ryazan

MOSCOW, March 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will
discuss health care modernization in Ryazan on Friday that will mainly
focus on the construction of 24 perinatal centers across the country.
Putin will hold a TV linkup will Russian regions where such centers
were built or are to be commissioned this year.
The government program approved in 2007 earmarked 19 billion rubles
for the aim and 12 centers had already been launched. However construction
delayed in four regions.
The remaining twelve regional centers have to be launched this year.
Putin will visit the perinatal center in Ryazan which was launched on
March 1.
The center in Kaliningrad enclave which was launched in 2009 reported
a 36.6 percent drop in infant mortality which comprised 4.5 deaths per
1000 newborns in 2010 against 7.1 a year before.
