Toxic leak reported at East China chemical company
BEIJING, March 10 (Itar-Tass) - Around 20 tonnes of toxic acid leaked from a chemical plant in East China's Zhejiang Province, the Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday.
The leak of hydrofluoric acid occurred at the plant of Hailan chemical company in Quzhou city in the afternoon.
Workers of the company and residents of the nearby regions have been evacuated. No casualties have been reported.
Rescue teams are working on the site of the incident to liquidate the leak. The cause of the leakage has not been found yet.
Hydrofluoric acid is a chemical used in the manufacturing and
industrial production. Inhaling the hydrofluoric acid gas can cause severe damage to health and even death.
