SYDNEY, March 10 (AAP)-Prime Minister Julia Gillard will visit indigenous health services as the government works to close the gap between black and white disadvantage.
Indigenous social justice commissioner Mick Gooda told the National Press Club on Thursday that the Labor leader would visit numerous health facilities.
"The prime minister has accepted an invitation to visit indigenous health services highlighting the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and showcasing the services and programs that are meeting those needs," Mr Gooda said.
"We are working with her office as we speak to facilitate these visits."
The social justice commissioner was addressing the press club to celebrate the fifth birthday of the Closing the Gap campaign.
