Primary education is free now
2008-2009 the Education ministry has announced the abolishing ofprimary school tuition fees, the state-run 26sep.net has said.
Education minister Abdul Salam al-Jawfi said the ministry has made efforts to overcome problems facing education process in the country such as those linked to providing textbooks, redistribution ofteachers according to each area needs and school equipment.
Al-Jawfi said the ministry also issued a law exempting students in primary grades from school fees the move which will encouragepupils to join school.
Earlier, the government approved YR 1 billion as a budget for the scholastic year of 2008-2009, the decision which al-Jawfi says will promote the quality of education as well as activating the role ofschool administrations.
The 2008-2009 school year is to begin on September 6.
