Sindh police nab 1868 accused in eight days
KARACHI, March 09, 2011 (PPI): Sindh police during the last eight days conducted 87 encounters in various parts of the city and arrested 1868 accused including kidnappers, dacoits, proclaimed offenders and absconders and recovered a big cache of ammunition from their possession, says a police report.
As per detail, on the instruction of IGP Sindh the police launched a campaign against criminals. They apprehended 87 accused red handed from the scenes of crime after encounters. They also busted 27 gangs of criminals while a bandit was killed during an encounter in Karachi.
Moreover, the police arrested 251 alleged robbers, 33 proclaimed offenders and 1497 absconders.
The police during these actions recovered 11 SMGs, five rifles, 18 shotguns and repeaters, 177 pistols, revolvers and mousers, 870 bullets, 29 snatched cars, 30 motorcycles and 28 mobile phones.
