22 arrested by South Zone police
Karachi, March 09, 2011 (PPI): 22 persons including drug peddlers, motorcycle lifter and criminals involved in street crimes have been arrested by the police of nine police stations of the South Zone, recovering drugs, ammunition, stolen goods and a vehicle.
The drive against criminals in the South Zone was carried out on the directives of DIG Iqbal Mahmood.
According to details, SHO Jackson Police Station Chaudhary Irshad on a tip from his informer raided the Sultanabad area and arrested drug peddlers Ziauddin, Syed Khalid Shah and a fugitive Taj Muhammad and seized one and a half kg Hashish. The drug peddlers had gathered at that place to strike a deal for the substance, according to police.
On the other hand SHO Arambagh Shahbaz Shah arrested the master mind of the notorious motorcycle lifters gang. Shah arrested Liaquat Ali and recovered a motorcycle having number plate KBY 6720. The gang is notorious for lifting motorcycles from Karachi’s commercial parking areas and supplying them to one Ali Bukhsh Baluch in Baluchistan.
Artillery Maidan Police arrested Shakeel Wajid Gul and Anwer Hussain, criminals involved in street crimes, and recovered stolen cash and two mobile phones and Hashish from them. SHO Nafees Aijaz Khawaja arrested the leader of a dacoit’s gang and recovered a pistol, magazine, two snatched mobile phones and stolen cash.
Furthermore Darkhshan Police Station, Gizri, Mithadar and Docks police arrested fourteen proclaimed offenders.
