OPF facilitating repatriated Pakistanis from Libya
Islamabad, March 09, 2011 (PPI): Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) is facilitating repatriated Pakistanis from Libya in term of extending transportation facility to them from all international airports of Pakistan to their native towns.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, OPF Spokesman said that 2680 stranded Pakistanis in Libya have been evacuated and they have reached in Pakistan through various flights from March 1st to today. He said they have reached Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar through commercial and special charted flights. He said that all stranded Pakistanis in Libya who had moved to neighboring countries including Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Turkey have been repatriated.
He said that 1902 Pakistanis including some families have arrived at Benazir International Airport Islamabad till today. He said that OPF has facilitated 729 Overseas Pakistanis by providing transportation facility to them from Benazir International Airport Islamabad, Quaid-e-Azam International Airport Karachi and Peshawar International Airport to their destinations in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtonkhaw and Sindh.
He said that OPF has established crisis cell to facilitate the stranded Pakistanis in Libya and strengthened the OPF Airport Facilitation Counters working already with additional staff for the convenience of repatriated Pakistanis. He said that the operation to evacuate Pakistanis from Libya would remain continue till all those who are desirous to leave Libya for their safety. He added the crises cell is working 24/7 hours.
