At least 31 killed, over 40 injured in suicide bomb blast
Peshawar, March 09, 2011 (PPI): At least 31 people were martyred and over 40 others wounded when a suicide bomber struck a funeral in Adezai’s area of Matni near Peshawar on Wednesday.
Around 300 people were attending the funeral for the wife a militiamen in the Matani area when the bomber struck.
Police and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, while an emergency was declared in Peshawar’s hospitals.
Adezai is an important village of Peshawar where a pro-government militia (Aman Lashkar) was fighting the Taliban. DCO Peshawar, Siraj Ahmed Khan told that the blast was a suicide attack targeting the Aman Lashkar.
