Thailand's artificial rain making mission launched

BANGKOK, March 9 (TNA) - Thai authorities have launched this year's artificial rain making mission, as the Royal Thai Air Force will dispatch a fleet of 12 aircraft to support the Royal Rain Making Operation Office under the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Thai Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Itthiporn Suphawong presided over a ceremony in Bangkok on Tuesday to deliver the fleet of aircraft, necessary equipment and operational officers to the Royal Rain Making Operation Office to assist people in drought-hit areas this year.
Air Chief Marshal Itthiporn said that the artificial rain making operations will officially kick off next month to serve all drought-stricken areas, as there are now rain making operation bases located in all regions of the country.
The Thai air force commander-in-chief ensured that the Royal Thai Air Force will be able to provide a 100-per cent support to the official artificial rain making operations. (TNA)
