TRADE MINISTER TO MEET CHINESE COUNTERPART IN BEIJING
Beijing, China Aug 22 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu will meet her Chinese counterpart Chen Deming during a working visit to China on August 22-24, an Indonesian Embassy official said.
The two ministers would discuss bilateral and multilateral trade related issues, including developments in thef Doha Round talks.
"They will meet and discuss a range of trade issues, bilateral and multilateral trade," Imbang Listiyadi, commercial attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing told ANTARA.
Pengestu would be in China at the same time as Vice President Jusuf Kalla is also schduled to visit Beijing.
Kalla would meet Chinese top officials, including President Hu Jintao, and some prominent Chinese businessmen.
Listiyadi also said the trade ministers' meeting would be an important and strategic step in enhancing Indonesia-China trade relations.
"Indonesia-China trade relations have so far been running well. Over the years, there were ups and downs but all the problems that ever arose were settled amicably," she said.
