Russia regions to display innovation projects at MIPIM

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, March 8 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's regions are to present
their innovation projects at the MIPIM-2011 international commercial real
estate show that opens in Cannes, France, on Tuesday.
Nizhny Novgorod Region suggests four comprehensive projects. According
to Dmitry Svatkovsky, vice-governor for innovation policy, the projects
include the development of the Nizhny Novgorod international airport which
is to be modernized and reconstructed. By 2014, it is planned to build a
new passenger terminal with the handling capacity of 600 passengers an
hour and priced at over 1,000 million roubles and to streamline the
accompanying infrastructure. The amount of investments is to total about
2,700 million roubles.
A project for the development of the Volgan industrial partk envisages
the completion of the second phase of the industral park this year and the
third one in 2012 on an aggregate area of 180,000 square kilometres. All
the necessary utility lines and engineer networks have been laid at a site
adjacent to the Nizhny Novgorod-Moscow Federal Highway. Electric
facilities are available and the supply of natural gas has been installed.
The buiding of a four-lane bridge over the Volga River will also
become a no less socially important project. The birdge with an overall
length of 4.7 km will make it possible to link the central areas of the
Volga area with northern regions of Russia. An expected traffic capacity
of the bridge willbe 40,000 motor vehicles per 24 hours. Investments
amount to 40,000 million roubles. Construction period is five years.
The region's package of invesstprojects also includes the construction
of a downhill skiing camp after the pattern of a full-fledged health
resort intended for both family holidaying and for special-slalom and
snowboarding competitions, and a project to build a cottage community.
It is also planned to bring 250 low-rise houses,each with an aggregate
floor area from 60 to120 sq m with an attached land allotment of ten
hundredths of a hectare to the regional suburban real estate market. An
expected amount of investments will be 650 million roubles.
Sverdlovsk Region will also put on show at MIPIM several large-scale
investment projects which provide for a plant for the production of
building glass according to an innovative technology, the construction of
a Yekaterinburg-EXPO international exhibition center, the reconstruction
of a railway terminal in Yekaterinburg, and a comprehensive development
of Russia's largest Akademichesky district in Yekaterinburg.
It is also planned to present a project to establish aTitanium Valley
special economic zone of industrial and production type.
MIPIM exhibtion, which has been held annually since 1990, is a key one
in the sphere of real estate. It draws all big participants in the sector
-- from designers of territorial development concepts to investors and end
users.
