Sukhoi Civil Airliners represents RF at Asian Aerospace show
HONG KONG (Xianggang), March 8 (Itar-Tass) - The Asian Aerospace-2011
show that opens here on Tuesday has drawn over 270 enterprises from 32
countries. Theworld's leading producers of civil air vehicles and
equipment, including the Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier, are among
exhibitors.
Russia is represented by the Sukhoi Civil Airliners Company which is
to acquaint visitors with the project aimed at developing the Sukhoi
Superjet-100 regional air liner.
Southeast Asia's major airshow, which is held every two years, changed
venue since 2007 by moving in here from Singapore. This was prompted by the fact that Hong Kong can provide better conditions for exhibition arrangements and is a more convenient site for the mastering of the market of the aircraft industry of the People's Republic of China (PRC) --the world's most rapidly growing one.
China becomes an increasingly important exhibitor at this airshow. The
display stand of the Commercial Aircraft Corporatino of China (COMAC) --the developer of the first national long-haul passenger airliner S-919,will become the major one at the show. The airliner's test flight is planned for 2014. Chinese airlines have already begun to place orders forthe airliner.
Organisers of the exhibition expect that not less than 11,000 people
will visit the airshow within its three-day running. Visitors will be able to see 21 Western-made jetliners, predominantly business-class ones, on the parking apron.
A conference and a symposium are also to be held within the scope of
the airshow.
