BRICS committed to open, non-discriminatory cooperation

BEIJING (Itar-Tass) - BRICS nations are committed to open and
non-discriminatory cooperation, and not to confrontation with developed
countries, China's Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told a news conference on
Monday.
He underlined that it is an important part of the south-south
cooperation and an important bridge for the north-south cooperation.
In April China's southern city of Sanya will host a meeting of leaders
of BRICS that include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, Yang
said adding that South Africa's President Jacob Zuma will attend the
meeting.
"We hope that the upcoming BRICS summit will yield positive and
important results," he said.
He underlined that it is necessary for BRICS leaders to strengthen
mutual dialogue as all countries have different history and culture.
BRICS nations "play an important and constructive role in overcoming
the global financial crisis, climate change and in promoting economic
recovery," Yang said.
