North Korean leader attends concert by State Symphonic Orchestra
PYONGYANG (Itar-Tass) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il
attended a concert by the State Symphonic Orchestra, founded in 1946,
reported the KCNA news agency.
Theatregoers hailed with great enthusiasm their leader, "under whose
wise guidance the party, the army and people of the country win one
victory after another". The orchestra, chorus and soloists rendered
patriotic works, "lauding immortal services of Kim Jong-Il, administering
vigorously and resolutely the creation in the DPRK a powerful and
prospering state as well as indomitable will of people and the North
Korean army to complete the revolutionary course under the banner of
juche".
The general secretary of the Korean Workers' Party and chairman of the
State Defence Committee thanked actors for the performance, during which
they rendered new works, "conforming to cultural and emotional
requirements of people". Kim believes that composers "should create new
symphonies, based on juche ideas, inspiring thereby people and the army in
their revolutionary march for raising living standards of population".
The North Korean leader was accompanied by his junior son Kim Jong-Un,
holding the post of deputy chairman of the KWP Central Military Committee.
