All parties and individuals contributed flood prevention to be awarded
throughout last week has successfully prevented the overflow of the Mekong River into the Capital's urban area.
Over last week, a 15 km-wall of sandbags with between one and two metres high from the current base-dyke along the Mekong River bank has been successfully stacked thanks to all parties and Vientiane residents joinedworkforce into the stack of sandbag wall to prevent flooding.
Thus, the Vientiane Administration discussed on applauding all parties and private sectors participating to the flooding prevention in VientianeCapital, on 19 August.
It is aimed at recognising their once great contribution to the floodingprevention in Vientiane Capital.
All parties contributing workforce, money and other facilities to the movement of flood prevention, will be praised by the Government withawarding of medals and certificate of congratulation.
