PRESIDENT MEETS OFFICIAL OF JP MORGAN CLIMATE PROGRAM

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday Mr. Edward Hanrahan, an executive director of the JP Morgan Climate program, and Mrs. April Allderdice, Director-General and CEO of the MicroEnergy Credits Corporation.
Present were also L.Purevsuren and E.Zorigt, advisors to the Presiden, and M.Bold, an executive director of the "Tenger" financial cooperative.
The visitors have introduced the President to a voluntary market at stock exchange for reducing greenhouse gas and assistance rendered to Mongolia.
The State Head has said parliament approved the law on reducing air pollution in the capital city, and mentioned some measures are planned for realization of the law. He has said he is ready to support activities of the climate program.
The JP Morgan Climate program has started cooperating with the Khas Bank in the carbon credit which a system of earning money from special funds of the world's biggest companies by trading carbon. As of present, the Khas Bank may decline its loan interest for clients for buying covering of gers (national dwelling) and smoke-free stoves, with a help of the carbon credit. In other words, the bank will decrease its loan interest in a way of receiving money from the special fund based on measuring of carbon reduction. The report on the results is sent to the JP Morgan Climate program.
