Iranian MPs tighten qualification for parliament hopefuls, master’s degree needed
TEHRAN, March 3 (MNA) – Iran`s Majlis on Wednesday approved a bill that bars candidates to run for parliament who only have a degree of graduation. According to the approval master’s degree is also needed to run for parliament.
According to the report, 196 members of parliament were present to discuss the bill. Among them, 142 gave their votes in favor of the bill, 23 against and 19 abstained.
The bill giving details for the qualification of candidates, saying, “They must have five years of experience in the field of management of education and training.”
