Yemen, Malaysia discuss industrial development strategy

SANA'A, March 02 (Saba) - Yemen and Malaysia discussed here on Wednesday joint coordination to prepare the executive
program of the strategy of industrial development in Yemen.
The strategy was prepared by the Malaysian government owned company SIRIM Berhad in cooperation with Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Minister of Trade and Industry Hisham Sharaf along with the Malaysian envoy to Yemen Abdul-Samad Othman talked about Yemen availing from the Malaysian experience in the
industrial side.
The meeting noted the promising areas that can be concentrated on in the first phase of implementing the strategy as well as the Malaysian supportive role in carrying it
out.
The two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation relations between Yemen and Malaysia and means of developing them, particularly in the commercial, economic and investment sides.
The Minister affirmed the ministry's keenness to integrate the program with the general framework of the country's policy and the Fourth Five-Year Plan for Economic and
Social Development 2011-2015.
He expressed his wish for organizations and donors to offer support in order to implement the industrial development strategy,noting the development of promising industries
is Yemen's option to diversify its income resources.
In return, the Malaysian diplomat hailed the Yemeni-Malaysian relations' level, showing his country's readiness to cooperate with Yemen in carrying out the strategy's executive
program.
