CEC envoys to work as int'l observers at Kazakh election - chief
MOSCOW, March 2 (Itar-Tass) - Representatives of the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) will work as international observers at the upcoming presidential election in Kazakhstan, due on April 3, CEC head Vladimir Churov told reporters on Wednesday.
According to Churov, "they will work both on bilateral agreements andwithin the CIS mission." Churov said the group of CEC observers would beled by Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission StanislavVavilov and CEC member Siyabshakh Shapiyev.
Churov also said that so far the CEC has not received an official
invitation to the parliamentary election in Estonia, which will be held onMarch 6. He made it clear that if the invitation comes, the CEC willcertainly take part.
At the same time he said that "the most interesting part of the
election campaign in Estonia has already ended for us". He said he implied"an early voting on the Internet". Churov said the Estonian colleagues had promised to present a full report on that procedure.
He also said that a lot of "election events" are underway in the
world. As an example he mentioned Sweden, where a revote would take place.
"A lot of omissions have been found in the legislation of that country, which we eliminated long ago".
