D.DEMBEREL MEETS FOREIGN DELEGATIONS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Parliament Speaker D.Demberel received Monday a delegation led by V.A.Pekhtin, a member of the supreme council of the United Russia Party (URP) and first deputy head of the URP's faction at the State Duma.
D.Demberel thanked the delegation for taking part in actions of the 90th anniversary of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP). Mentioning about the 90-year history of the Mongolia-Russia relations, he has said the countries will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations and the 30th anniversary of the first joint flight to space. He has spoken about a regularity of high level mutual visits and widening of the inter-parliamentary ties, and expressed a hope that the economic cooperation will forward in accordance with certain plans.
In response, Mr. Pekhtin has underlined that the Mongolia-Russia ties and cooperation have had a long-year experience, and that "Russia is the first state to recognize an independence of Mongolia".
Mr. Pekhtin has noted a successful implementation of a cooperation agreement established last year between the MPP and URP, and introduced the second part of the historical documents on the cooperation of the two parties. The first part of the documents has been passed to the MPP when the parties signed the cooperation agreement.

The same day, the Speaker received a delegation led by Liu Jieyi, a vice head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
The Speaker has thanked the Chinese delegation for taking part in the MPP's anniversary and emphasized that the two political parties relations and cooperation have a long-year history, underlining an importance of the inter-party ties in Mongolia-China relations. He has said the inter-parliamentary relations and the economic collaboration have been intensifying in recent years, and expressed a hope that they will widen further.
Talking about an important role of the two parties' collaboration in development of Mongolia-China friendly relations and cooperation, Mr. Jieyi has said China want to expand the cooperation between the parties and intends to run a scientific conference on the cooperation of the parties and a forum of youths.
He has appreciated an important role of Mongolia in international and regional activities. He has also has emphasized an importance of the collaboration of the China-Mongolia parliamentary group, and said he is "satisfied with aspiration of Mongolian parliamentary factions political parties to keep the friendly ties with China".

The Speaker received Mr. John Grogan, a member of the British Labor Party (BLP) and head of the UK-Mongolia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Glen Ford, a member of the BLP's group of European Union and Socialists.
The Speaker has emphasized a participation of the BLP's representatives in the anniversary measures saying it will give a push to ties and collaboration of the two countries. D.Demberel has expressed a satisfaction with a plan of Mr. Tony Blair, a former Prime Minister of the UK and former chairman of the BLP, to visit Mongolia within this year.
Mr. Grogan has mentioned about widening of the two parties' cooperation by exchanging representatives and said a big delegation of British parliament and businessmen will visit Mongolia in May this year.
Mr. Glen has said he wants to make the cooperation more closer between Mongolia and the European Union, adding it is time to consider issues to be reflected in the free trade agreements for Mongolia.
