DPRK does not intend to nationalize for'n property--official
PYONGYANG, March 2 (Itar-Tass) - The authorities of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) "encourage foreign capital investments in this country on the principles of equality and interaction," Ri Song-hyok, an official of the State Committee on Investments and Joint Companies, has told the Korean Central News Agency in an interview.
Ri recalled that the country has a law that guarantees the safety of foreign investments. "The government of the DPRK does not intend to
nationalize or seize property with foreign capital," he emphasized.
The current legislation in the DPRK ensures the protection of foreign investments and legitimate rights of foreign companies. The Committee official also said that enterprises, set up by foreign investors in the Rasong trade-and -economic zone, avail themselves of preferential conditions in their economic activities.
The law on foreign investments was adopted in the DPRK on October 5, 1992.
