RF, Japan discuss econ coop'n, N Africa crisis, NKorea, Iran

TOKYO, March 2 (Itar-Tass) - The northern Africa crisis, the situation concerning North Korea and Iran, prospects for the development of political dialogue between Moscow and Tokyo, and bilateral economic cooperation are the focus of attention here on Wednesday during a new round of Russia-Japan strategic dialogue.
The new round of the dialogue, taking place in the Foreign Ministry reception house Inkura Kokan, is being conducted by Andrei Denisov, Russia's First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his Japanese counterpart Kenichiro Sasae.
The Russian diplomat said at the beginning of the meeting, "Our two countries have close and similar approaches to some problems. We regard the strategic dialogue as an important part of bilateral relations".
Mr. Sasae pointed out in reply that it is now important to determine domain in which Moscow and Tokyo can effectively work together.
The Russia-Japan strategic dialogue at the level of First Deputy
Ministers of Foreign Affairs has been conducted since January 2007. The previous round was held in Tokyo in January 2010.
