'Human error' leads to Haywood's discreet departure
attributed to "human error" by an immigration official the discreet departure of Ken Haywood, a US national whose internet connection was used to send terror e-mail minutesbefore Ahmedabad blasts.
"Preliminary inquiry shows that it was a human error," atop Home Ministry official said.
He said the Ministry has already ordered an inquiry intothe matter and the concerned official has been removed.
The sudden departure of Haywood, an MNC executive, from Indira Gandhi Airport here on the intervening night of August 17-18 left the Home Ministry red faced as questions were being asked as to how a person named in a sensitive terrorinvestigation allowed to leave India.
"We have detected the lapse and taken action," theofficial said.
Haywood left despite a Look Out notice issued by the Mumbai police pending against the 48-year-old US citizen. He was accompanied by his wife and two daughters to his home viaBrussels.
Haywood underwent lie detector and brain mapping test inMumbai and nothing adverse was found against him.
