Russian Audit Chamber delegation to meet with Polish counterparts

WARSAW, March 1 (Itar-Tass) -- A delegation from the Russian Audit
Chamber led by its chairman Sergei Stepashin will meet on Tuesday with top officials of Poland's Supreme Chamber of Control to discuss cooperation between the two countries on the international arena.
"The talks will focus on both bilateral relations and on the
activities of the sides within such international institutions as the
Organization of Public Financial Control in European Countries (EUROSAI), and the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI)," a spokesman for the Poland's Supreme Chamber of Control told Itar-Tass. "Russia and Poland are actively participating in the work of these structures and have similar positions on issues of priority."
According to chairman of Poland's Supreme Chamber of Control Jacek
Jezierski, the audit authorities of the two countries have been
maintaining good relations for years. "We have meetings at least once a year and always support each other, representing regional interests on the international arena," he stressed.
During his three-day stay in Poland, Stepashin will also deliver a
report on the socio-economic situation in Russia at Poland's Higher School of State Administration. Apart from it, he will visit the city of Krakow to lay flowers to the tomb of Poland's former President Lech Kczynski and his wife Maria, who died in an air crash near the Russian city of Smolensk.
