CSTO secretary leaves for Belarus to discuss collective security
MOSCOW, March 1 (Itar-Tass) -- Secretary General of the Collective
Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on Tuesday leaves for a two-day
working visit to Belarus to discuss with the Belarussian authorities
issues related to better functioning of the CSTO collective security
system.
"The visit's basic goal is to deliver a report to chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on the implementation of the resolution of the CSTO December 2010 session," CSTO secretariat spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov told Itar-Tass.
According to the spokesman, Bordyuzha will also have talks with
Belarus' Security Council secretary Leonid Maltsev, Foreign Minister
Sergei Martynov, Defence Minister Yuri Zhadobin, Interior Minister,
Anatoly Kuleshov, Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko, and speakers of both chambers of the Belarusian parliament Vladimir Andreichenko and Anatoly Rubinov.
"The talks will centre round top-priority directions of the CSTO
activities and further steps to improve the collective security system, as well as preparations for the next regular meetings of the CSTO steering bodies - Council of Defence Ministers, Council of Foreign Ministers, Committee of Security Council Secretaries, and Collective Security Council that will be chaired by Belarus," Zainetdinov said.
