WFP's activities in Saada province discussed SAADA
Feb.28(Saba)- Saada Governor Taha Hajar met here on Monday with Deputy Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Yemen, Adham Musallam, who is currently visiting the province.
Musallam's visit to Saada aimed to know about the food aid needed by the province as well as the activities carried out by the WFP's branch therein during the last period.
At the meeting, Hajar and Musallam discussed the support the WFP would provide to help the return of internally displaced people (IDPs) to their areas, in addition to the mechanism of cooperation between the WFP and other humanitarian organizations and concerned authorities in this aspect.
Hajar appreciated the aid presented by the WFP to the IDPs and its role in alleviating their suffering and facilitating their return to their areas.
He confirmed the keenness of the local authority in the province to facilitate the WFP's tasks in providing food assistance.
For his part, Musallam noted to the importance of coordination with the other organizations in this aspect, stressing the contribution of all to restore peace and support the IDPs' return.
