G.MONKHBAYAR HOLDS MEETING MAYOR OF BEIJING

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city G.Monkhbayar has held a meeting with Mr. Guo Jinlong, Mayor of Beijing, in the administrative central building of the China's capital city. Present at the meeting were Ts.Batbayar, Charge D'Affaires of Mongolia to China; N.Oyundari, representative of Ulaanbaatar city to Beijing; and other officials.
The Mayors have considered issues on forwarding the bilateral collaboration between the cities, and establishing ties between twin cities.
The Mayor of Beijing has expressed a willingness to widen the collaboration with Ulaanbaatar by updating the memorandum of cooperation. He has underlined that the Summer Olympic Games of 2008 have brought a great progress of development of the city, and thanked Mongolians for participating in the Games attaching a great importance.
Mr. Guo has pointed out China aims to make its capital city which is the biggest center of politics, culture and international relations a scientific and green city.
In response, G.Monkhbayar has noted the Mongolia-China good neighborhood relations have been deepening, and said Ulaanbaatar city wants to develop close cooperation with Beijing.
In addition to it, G.Monkhbayar has pointed out Ulaanbaatar is studying experiences of Beijing for tackling the most difficult problems and is seeking methods of implementation. “My capital city has faced many problems. We are interested in achievements of Beijing to abolish soil and air pollutions and to make green parks. So, we have to study these experiences from Beijing,” G.Monkhbayar has said.
The Beijing city's Mayor has received an invitation to visit Mongolia, and then backed a proposal of Ulaanbaatar to make twin city relations between Ulaanbaatar and Beijing. He mentioned Mongolia is one of the important and biggest neighbors of China, thus China will attach a great importance to develop friendly cooperation with Ulaanbaatar in all spheres.
