S.BATBOLD MEETS CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY DELEGATION


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Premier S.Batbold received last Friday a delegation headed by Mr. Andrew Sortwell, a manager of the International Examination Center of the University of Cambridge.
The Premier has thanked the visitors for cooperating with Mongolia "who aims to study successes of foreign countries' development and to introduce best experiences". “So we have already started some measures to introduce standards of Cambridge,” Mr. Batbold has said.
In turn, Mr. Sortwell has said the sides have begun works for approahing a signing of a memorandum to be established between the government of Mongolia and the University of Cambridge. Experts have completed researching the matters together with related Ministry, specialized educational organizations, scholars and teachers.
A state secondary school 115 has been selected as the first one to offer lessons in two languages as the standards require. There, a specialized team from the International Examination Center has started studying possibilities of granting the school a right to issue international training program licenses. From the academic year of 2011, the experimental programs have launched at 30 secondary schools of the city's districts and aimags.
The Cambridge standards introduction programme's two-stage implementation will take 20 years. The first phase will be realized for 6-8 years in order to bring the training programs into international standards. In frames of the second one, secondary schools will introduce bilingual traning system.
In the future, secondary school graduates will receive certificates of Cambridge and will able to directly enroll famous universities and institutes of the world.
