AZERI FM MEETS EGYPTIAN ENVOY
Baku, 19 AUGUST,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Egyptian Ambassador Youssef Ahmad Ibrahim Al Sharkawi who is completing his diplomatic mission in Baku.
The Azeri FM praised the Egyptian Ambassador`s contribution to pushing bilateralrelations between the two countries to a much higher level.
Mammadyarov recalled Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev`s last year visit to Cairo, stressing it gave a good impetus to the friendly relations between Azerbaijan andEgypt.
Youssef Ahmad Ibrahim Al Sharkawi said he will soon assume the post of Egypt`sdeputy foreign minister, adding he will continue to keep a close eye on the region.
During the conversation, Elmar Mammadyarov and Youssef Ahmad Ibrahim Al Sharkawi also discussed regional situation, Middle East peace process, and cooperation withinthe Organization of the Islamic Conference.
