PYONGYANG, February 27 (Itar-Tass) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il
was present at a concert by the song and dance company of people's
security, reported the KCNA news agency on Sunday.
According to the news agency, soloists and chorus of the choreographic
company rendered patriotic songs, lauding the homeland, the party, armed
forces and the country's leader.
The news agency singled out the following songs: "Glory to our
respected leader, Comrade Kim Jong-Il!" and "We shall deeply honour our
general", which reflected the firm determination of officers of the Korean
Security Forces to defend achievements of the socialist homeland as
revolutionary soldiers of the Korean Workers Party (KWP)".
Kim praised company members for "excellent musical performance" and
wished them further successes. He also set new tasks before the company
personnel who "have brought up quite a number of talented and
revolutionary artists" over the past 60 years.
Along with the North Korean leader, the concert was attended by his
junior son Kim Jong-Un, occupying the post of deputy head of the KWP
Central Military Committee (headed by his father), member of the presidium
of the Politburo of the KWP central committee and chief of the General
Staff of the Korean People's Army Lee Young Ho and other statesmen, party
functionaries and military leaders.
