PRESIDENT RECIVES YANG JIECHI

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ When paying the official visit to Mongolia February 24-25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Mr. Yang Jiechi was received Thursday by the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj.
The President has wished the Foreign Minister a comfortable visit to Mongolia and has congratulated for the success of the official talks held between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries. "I have learned that during these talks You exchanged proposals and suggestions on many important issues, on the positions of the two parties to upgrade the relations towards strategic partnership in particular. Mongolia's side considers that the main content of the strategic partnership is to deepen political and military trust, raise trade and economic cooperation to a new level of quality, increase mutual understanding by intensifying humanitarian exchanges and expanding multifaceted cooperation," Elbegdorj has noted.
The President has pointed out one of Mongolia's foreign policy priorities is to develop friendly neighbourhood relations and cooperation with China adding his visit to this country was successful.
Mentioning about the last year's official visit of Mr. Wen Jiabao, the PRC Premier and Party Secretary of the State Council, to Mongolia, Mr. Elbegdorj has said Mongolia considers that the visit of Mr. Jiechi would become an impetus for the implementation of the accords of the high level visits.
The President has invited China's President Hu Jintao to visit Mongolia and expressed a hope that it will be realized soon creating possibilities to announce that the bilateral relations are elevated to a new level. "There are opportunities to cooperate and implement big projects and programs within the framework of economic ties," Elbegdorj has said.
"China is the biggest investor and foreign trade partner of Mongolia. There are possibilities of implementing joint projects in agricultural, mining, energy and infrastructural sectors," the President has said, underlining Mongolia will support cooperation at government level, and that Mongolia appreciates the Chinese Government's positively solving soft loan issues.
The State Head has emphasized developing of the bilateral relations in cultural, educational and humanitarian sectors are important in strengthening mutual understanding and trust of the peoples of the two countries. He added Mongolia appreciates an increase of the number of Mongolian students to study with scholarships of the Chinese Government in China. "Bilateral cooperation in issues related to environmental protection and natural disasters is praiseworthy. Our countries support each other's initiatives on international matters. I think Your visit will become a preparation for enriching the relations with new context in the new century," he has said.
The President has requested Mr. Jiechi to convey his greetings to the President Hu Jintao.
In response, Mr. Jiechi had noted the relations and cooperation have been successfully developing and that he held talks in order to implement accords of the high level visits.
