Hanoi (VNA) - Nearly 30 million tonnes of ice broke off from the New Zealand
’s biggest glacier, Tasman, due to the 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurring on Feb.
22.

Tasman is located around 200 kilometres in the West coast from the Christchurch
city.

The earthquake caused ice split from the Tasman, creating iceberg and even
three-metre high wave, said tourist guides at the Tasman region in the Southern
Alps mountain range.

The devastating earthquake killed at least 113 people and left nearly 200 people
missing./.
