Georgia no threat to Sochi Olympics - Saakashvili

TBILISI, February 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Georgia does not pose any
"physical" threat to the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014, President
Mikhail Saakashvili said in an interview on a Russian-language television channel in Tbilisi on Friday. As he touched upon Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's statement about problems from the Georgian side for the Olympics in Sochi, Saakashvili said: "Georgia in physical terms is of zero threat to the Olympics in Sochi. We're not going to pose any physical threats."
On February 18, at a meeting with members of Russia's Security Council in Krasnaya Polyana, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that any provocations against the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, in particular, those from Georgia, should be duly prevented, and the level of security during the Games should meet the most modern standards.
"You all know, there are also some problems with our neighbors, with Georgia, so anything that requires more attention from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, law enforcement and security agencies, should be done and an appropriate obstruction placed in the way of any provocations," Medvedev said.
