Investigation Committee confirms injury of traffic police in Nalchik

NALCHIK, February 26 (Itar-Tass) -- The local office of the
Investigation Committee in Kabardino-Balkaria has confirmed a police
officer was injured, when a traffic police post was attacked near Nalchik.
"At the moment there is information about attacks against two traffic police posts," a spokesman for the Investigation Committee office told Itar-Tass. "In the fire attack on the post in the village Shalushka at the entrance to Nalchik one officer was injured."
"In addition there is information about a fire attack on the building of the republican FSB," the official said. "According to preliminary information, there were no injuries. As a result of the shooting damage was caused to a car parked nearby."
Over the fire attacks against the two traffic police posts at the
entrance to Nalchik Federal and against the office of the federal security service FSB criminal cases have been opened under articles 317 and 222 of the Criminal Code (assault on law enforcers and illegal carrying of arms), the Investigation Department said.
As Itar-Tass has been told at the republican prosecutor's office, on the premises of the FSB's sanatorium Leningrad there occurred an explosion on Friday evening, but no one was hurt.
"A probe into the type and yield of the explosive device is in
progress," the republican prosecutor's office said.
