EXPANDED TALKS RUN
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ After the individual meeting, the Premiers of Mongolia and Australia have held expanded talks.
Key issues have been raised on widening the commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries and a cooperation in the mining, agriculture and educational sectors. As it has been noted, it is possible for the countries to develop collaboration in various spheres by exploiting the similarities.
During the talks, the Australian side has decided to increase a financing of tuition fees for Mongolian students to study in Australia in respect of an effort of the Mongolian government to boost the economics based on education and knowledge.
The countries have underlined they have an opportunity to introduce Australian technologies in Mongolia's agricultural sector and to collaborate in the mining. Australia has agreed with Mongolia to open a vocational training center in Ulaanbaatar for preparing mining specialists and to increase number of Mongolian students majoring in engineering.
The Australian side has promised to update the visa terms for Mongolian people. This issue has been reaffirmed by the Premier of Australia Mrs. Julia Gillard during a news conference. Then, Australia has appreciated Mongolia's effort to develop the economics based on education and knowledge, and expressed a willingness to help Mongolia in it.
Present were Kevin Rudd, the Foreign Minister of Australia, and other cabinet members. The Mongolian was represented by Ts.Nyamdorj, the Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs; Yo.Otgonbayar, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science; D.Gankhuyag, Su.Batbold, D.Damba-Ochir MPs; J.Saule, the Vice Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry; S.Bolor, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs; T.Purevdorj, the Vice Minister of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, and other officials.
