VEB ready to take part in financing JV of Sollers and Ford
MOSCOW, February 23 (Itar-Tass) - Vneshekonombank (VEB) is prepared to
participate in financing a joint-venture (JV) enterprise of Sollers and Ford automakers, VEB chief Vladimir Dmitriyev told journalists here on Tuesday. "We are ready (for that)," he said.
Dmitriyev specified that the Bank so far "has no agreements (tohtis
efect with the two companies". He added that as soon as a financial model of JV becomes clear, VEB would make a decision on that score.
Last week, the Russian automaker Sollers announced its withdrawal from
the agreement on the establishment of a JV with Fiat. Sollers also
announced that the automaker Ford would become Sollers' partner in place of Fiat. The two companies have already filed an application for
participation in a new mode for the commercial assembly of automobiles.
