Libya on verge of civil war - Gaddafi's son
CAIRO, February 21 (Itar-Tass) -- Libya is on the verge of a civil war
over the confrontation between the tribes, Muammar Gaddafi's son Saif
al-Islam Gaddafi said live on Libyan television on Monday.
A poorly trained and equipped Libyan army has made many mistakes to
crack down on the riots. "Libya is plunging into chaos. The separatist
movements threaten the unity of the country from abroad," he said. "Arab
and African mercenaries hired by businessmen" fanned up violence in the
country. He denied the reports about hundreds of people killed in the
clashes.
Meanwhile, independent sources cannot check the reports that the
leader of the Libyan Jamahiriya Muammar Gaddafi fled to Venezuela or
Brazil and military officials came to power in Tripoli.
