Two oil wells drilled in Halyafa
Amara (NINA) – Director General of the Maysan Oil Company, Ali Mu’arij, announced starting the drilling of two oil wells in Halfaya and Bazirgan oil fields.
He told NINA that the drilling in Halfaya is conducted by Chinese, French, and Malaysian companies that won the contracts during the second contracting round. Halfaya is a giant field in Maysan.
“Drilling in the third well of the Bazirgan field started by American company that is entitled to drill 20 wells in this field,” he added.
Oil production in Maysan governorate will reach 170.000 BPD by the end of this year. Finishing these wells will raise the production ceiling to 1 million BPD.
