Japan grants Yemen $134,000 to improve Dammar water

governorate about $134,000 to improve the water supply system inal-Kaina'ei area.

The grant presented by the Japanese ambassador Masakazu Toshikage aims to provide the area's inhabitants with safe drinking water and to alleviate the women and children's suffering form fetching water from remote wells in addition to improve the health condition ingeneral in al-Kaina'ei area.

It is estimated that around 3,000 persons from Manar district willgain advantage from this gift.

The government of Japan has financed during the three past years about 54 small-scale community-based projects amounting to $4.5 million in domains of primary health care, basic education and watersupply in rural areas.
