DPRK demands S Korea stop anti-Pyongyang campaign-paper.
19/2 Tass 58
PYONGYANG, February 18 (Itar-Tass) -- The government-run Minju Choson
newspaper of the DPRK demanded on Saturday that the South Korean
authorities stop an anti-Pyongyang campaign in the field of human rights
which is a part of the "sinister scenario blocking the peace dialogue
between the North and the South."
According to the newspaper, Seoul has intensified propaganda pressure
on the DPRK soon after the failure of the working military talks held last
week in the border point of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone dividing
the Korean Peninsular into two parts.
This meeting, the organization of which "required exerting huge
efforts," as the article of the newspaper notes, had produced no results
through the South Korean side's fault which "showed an insincere attitude
to the dialogue." However, as Minju Choson notes, Seoul, on the contrary,
strives to blame Pyongyang for the failure of the talks in Panmunjom.
"History will give a severe sentence to those who oppose the will of
the Korean nation," the newspaper warns. "South Korea should immediately
refrain from the propaganda campaign which makes artificial obstacles on
the way of improving relations between the North and the South and hampers
the peaceful unification of the native land," the newspaper writes in
conclusion.
