Yemen PM Mujawar opens workshop on national security determinants

SANA (Saba) - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar confirmed on Saturday that Yemen is more aware of the challenges related
to its national security.
This came in the inauguration of a workshop on the determinants of =
national security which were organized by the Higher Military Academy in collaboration with Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA-CSS).
"Stability is the strong indicator of the national security of any =
country, we in Yemen are keen to establish a climate of
stability,Mujawar said, adding we will go on with
all procedures through dealing with all imbalances in the institutional field and fulfilling requirements and living priorities for people.
He added the government is keen for reaching the comprehensive and =
sustainable development with multi-sources for creating jobs as it is tthe major concern in the strategy of sustainability of national security reflects a good image in combating poverty as it is the main priority in the current and next period.
One of those priorities providing basic services like safe drinking =
water, electricity, roads and creating modern education harmonizing with labor markets, he continued.
He pointed out the importance of standing on the determinants of
national security as being derived by the importance of the nature
threats of national security of Yemen
or other countries in the region, particularly in these days by creating chaos and marketing it via media.
He expressed his hope that the workshop would come out with clear visions on the concept of national security and its determinants as the national security is not limited
to security and military aspects but extends to reach many areas.
For her part, Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Betty McCollum affirmed that the interest of the region and the world is
related to Yemen's security and stability
and economic development,affirming the importance of building strong =
relations between Yemen and the United States, particularly on boosting
joint security and boosting development
efforts.
The United States followed interest of President Saleh's initiative
calling for reforms before Joint meeting of Parliament and Shura Council, she said, affirming the importance
of dialogue to get out of any crisis.
She also affirmed the importance of this workshop for discussing
strategy of the national security in Yemen which will also boost regional
and world security.
For his part, the U.S ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein delivered a speech concerning the importance of this workshop and results that the participants would hope to
determine the national security of Yemen.
