Thai police crackdown on heroine

CHIANG RAI, Feb 18 (TNA) - Police have claimed a victory in efforts to crack down on the heroine trade, seizing a 200-kilogram shipment of the narcotic smuggled from Chiang Rai.

The heroine crackdown was carried out with the help of villagers in Wang Thong locality, after villagers told authorities they saw four strangers carrying 13 sacks of fertilizer which was hidden in a water pipeline.

Police found 512 bars of heroine worth a billion baht.

Prae province police commander Police Major General Pongsak Chue-som-boon, said police have arrested people suspected to be linked to the case. (TNA)
