CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet has discussed and backed a draft memorandum of understanding to be established between the governments of Australia and Mongolia on developing cooperation of the cabinet secretariats. The main purposes of the memorandum are to share information on activities of the both cabinets, to organize mutual visits, and to exchange experiences.
The government has made a decision to allocate USD 50 thousand from the government reserves fund to render a financial assistance to Australia that suffered human lives losses and material loss due to a natural disaster. By the way, Australia has rendered non-refundable aid totaling USD 21.3 million to Mongolia since 1994. In 2010, the country rendered development aid of USD 7.2 million, and one million Australian Dollar of it was dedicated to abolishing aftermath of zud disaster (natural disaster caused by extremely cold weather).
Mongolia will deliver its regular 5th report on implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) at the 101st session of the UN Human Rights Committee to be held March 21-22, 2011 in New York City, USA.
