Talabani, Turkey's Ambassador discuss means of bilateral cooperation
Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani discussed on Wednesday, Feb. 16, with Turkey's Ambassador to Iraq, Murat Ozçelik, means to expand bilateral relations in the service of mutual interests.
A statement issued by the President's Office said, "Talabani and Ozçelik discussed the relations between Iraq and Turkey and the necessity to expand them in mutual interest of both countries' people."
It added, "The two discussed means to develop bilateral cooperation and joint coordination in many issues of common interest, especially economic and trade relations, as well as vitalizing Turkish firms' participation in Iraq's reconstruction and investment scheme.
Talabani pointed out the importance of the strategic relations between both sides describing them as important and beneficial and serve the interests of both and serves the good of both people.
For his part, Ambassador Ozçelik asserted his country's determination to go ahead in supporting Iraq's political and democratic process, praising President Talabani's efforts toward consolidating the relations between Iraq and Turkey.
