Thailand to export more semi-skilled and skilled workers

BANGKOK, Feb 14 (TNA) - Thailand will send more semi-skilled and skilled workers to work in foreign countries and will implement measures to ensure that they receive fair treatment.
Thailand's Permanent Secretary for Labour Somkiart Chayasriwong briefed visiting Thai counselors for labour affairs stationed in 13 countries in Bangkok on Monday (Feb 14), noting that a Thai Ministry of Labour main policy now focuses on the expansion of oversea labour market for Thai skilled and semi-skilled workers, the protection of the Thai workers to ensure that they receive fair treatment and wages in accordance with their skills and the regular dissemination of updated and relevant labour information to the public.
Somkiart said that he also asked the Thai labour counselors to immediately respond and solve complaints made by Thai workers overseas, and that his ministry will soon launch a hotline number--through which Thai workers can lodge their complaints. (TNA)
