Kyrgyz citizens transfer to home over one bln dollars from Russia
BISHKEK, February 15 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyzstan's labour migrants in
Russia transferred 1.2 billion dollars from the Russian Federation during the past year, Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment reported on Tuesday.
Presently, about 113,000 Kyrgyzstan's citizens have Russia's official work permits, where almost 96,000 got it in 2010, the ministry said.
"Majority of our citizens working in Russia are employed in construction
/about 30 percent/, services /14 percent/ and trade /13 percent/."
Besides, they are involved actively in agriculture, transport and
communications. Most migrants from Kyrgyzstan work in Moscow, the Moscow
Region, and in the Urals Federal District.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan's experts claim that in reality the
number of those who left home for work in Russia may reach 350-400
thousand.
