UAZ assembly line resuming operation after two-week break
ULYANOVSK, February 15 (Itar-Tass) - The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant
(UAZ) is resuming production after a two week vacation. The enterprise's
spokeswoman Alla Akimova told Itar-Tass that the plant's assembly line on Tuesday will resume the work in the normal regime.
On Monday, service engineers completed the equipment testing, the
needed materials were delivered to workshops, and press forging started to work.
On February 1, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant for two weeks halted the assembly line. The corporate holiday at the plant was originally scheduled for April, but it was decided to have it in February, because in January the enterprise failed to reach agreement with steel suppliers on the prices of supplies.
Lat year, UAZ manufactured 55,229 automobiles, which is 69 percent
more than in 2009. The production plan of UAZ for this year is 57,200
automobiles.
