Dushanbe hopes situation in Egypt to normalise soon - source
DUSHANBE, February 14 (Itar-Tass) -- Dushanbe hopes for the soonest stabilisation of the situation in Egypt, a statement of Tajikistan's foreign Ministry published on Monday at the Khovar governmental news agency's site reads.
"Tajikistan follows attentively the dramatic events in the friendly country, considering them home affair of the Arab Republic of Egypt and
excluding any interference from outside," the document wrote.
The Foreign Ministry hopes that "during this complicated and vital
stage of the country's development, the state authorities will strive to
bring the situation to normal as soon as possible."
Presently, slightly under 1,000 Tajiks stay in Egypt, and mostly they are students at the Cairo Al-Azhar University, Head of the Tajikistani Foreign Ministry's Information Department Davlat Nazriyev said.
"From the first days as the situation in Egypt got complicated, our
embassy addressed our citizens staying there not to participate in any
actions, not to be present where many people get together and not to leave places where they stay together without serious reasons," he said.
"Tajikistan's government controls the situation and it is ready to
evacuate our citizens any moment."
As of Monday, Tajikistan's 14 students left Egypt.
